tuts+ recently did an article laying out what we will have to look forward to in the web design world in 2011. Some of these trends have been taking hold for a little while, but will be going full steam this year. What you can expect though are more dynamic and involving sites, even though some of them may only be one page!

One of the biggest things you will notice (if you haven’t already) is the loss of the “fold”. Coming from the newspaper world this term is stuck in my head, it means what thew user immediately sees without having to flip the paper over, or open it up.

This summer, Tribal DDB’s online-video work for Philips, “Carousel,” won the film Grand Prix at the Cannes Advertising Festival. The win in a category usually dominated by TV commercials and traditional shops was a coup for the digital agency.

It’s an incredible production and is being passed around the internet like a virus.  3 million views in the last month alone.  People watch this with their jaw dropped, not even realizing it is an ad for Phillips new TV.
